Inspired by the Provencal town of Saint-Remy de Provence, ‘This Life’ depicts a house in the midst of market day and seeks to capture the simplicity, contentment and ease of just being. Lavender hangs to dry, while the menu and open door below welcome in customers, with plants pots, a table and chairs nearby. Above, the windows and shutters are open to the morning sun, reminders of the family home in harmony with the busyness below. Light and shade is contrasted throughout, representing the nuances of life and the ‘human-ness’ of it all.
